Question: “What is the percentage of men who have successfully come out of the gay life style, and have gone into the heterosexual lifestyle by means of forgiveness of their sins, and walking into this NEW LIFE, with HIM? I hope this makes some sense.”

Reply: Great question, _____! However, I’m sorry to say that I do not have that figure for you. Perhaps I could best answer your question by asking a few questions.

What is the percentage of people living at the time of the flood in Noah’s day who took advantage of the invitation to life…? (8 people)

What percentage of the spies returning from Canaan trusted that God could deliver the land into the hands of His people…? (2 Spies)

What percentage of the adult Israelites that left Egypt to enter the Promised Land actually lived to enter it…? (Only 2 of the original adults, because of the rebellion of the remainder.)

What percentage of the 32,000 soldiers initially answering the call of Gideon were the 300 that actually went through with that call…? (94 hundredths of 1 per cent)

In the days of Elijah, what percentage of the population had not bowed the knee to Baal? God said to Elijah, “I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” (Romans 11:4,5)

What percentage of Israel accepted and followed their Messiah Jesus…? (Accept for a relatively few, the entire nation rejected Him…)

What percentage of the world’s population will be ready to meet Jesus when He comes in the clouds of glory? “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:15-17)

An amazing study in the Word of God is the subject of “Few”. God has never had the majority on His side in this world, and the majority of the citizens of this world, both non-Christian and Christian alike will be lost in the end; not for lack of God’s mercy and grace, but for lack of man’s acceptance of His forgiveness and redemption and His offer of deliverance from the bondage of sin.

In Matthew 22:14 Jesus tells us, “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

In another place Jesus said to his few, chosen disciples, “Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?” (Speaking of Judas)

Also, Matthew 7:13,14 – “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Matthew 7:21 says, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

In Revelation 12:17 we read, “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

Joel 2:31,32 reads, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.”

Zephaniah 3:13, “The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity…”

Romans 9:27, “Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved…

Revelation 3:4, “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.”

And who makes up this remnant of saved? Revelation 17:14, speaking of the Lord of lords, and King of kings, says, “And they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”

The danger I see in your question, _____, is that you might be looking to the success and/or failure of man in order to determine the likelihood of your own success or failure in dealing with the sin of homosexuality. We must not look in that direction, but look to Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, who promises that His grace is sufficient for you, _____. The failures we see in the world around us are due to the poor choices and lack of faith of our fellow man. We do not have to fail. We have only to look to Jesus, for by beholding Him we become changed.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” A genuine conversion, my friend, results in new motives, new tastes, and new tendencies. When you are truly born again, you can and will go forth to overcome every inherited and cultivated tendency to wrong.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name…” (John 1:12)

“According to your faith”, my friend, “be it unto you.” (Jesus, in Matthew 9:29)
