Question: Dear Victor, I am a married woman and watch Porn behind my husband’s back. I am not a lesbian but, sadly, lust over women being with other women. I want to stop, but it is so hard. I always seem to fall. Please help me, with advise. I do not want to loose my salvation and do not want to commit this adultery any longer, for I love my husband. Please write back. God Bless…

Reply: Hello, my friend:

Thank you for your inquiry. I know that God has victory in store for you. Be of good courage, for you are in good company. Jesus Himself was in all points tempted like as you are, yet without sin. (Heb. 4:15) So, by this we know that temptation is not sin. We go on to read that Jesus suffered being tempted. (Heb. 2:18) Therefore, we know that the battle can be fierce and painful, yet victory can be won. Further on in Hebrews 12:4 we discover that Jesus resisted unto blood, striving against sin. Yet, by His Father’s grace, He did not yield. Grace is the divine influence working upon the heart and reflecting in the life, according to the Greek dictionary. And Jesus promises that His grace is sufficient for you.

You have a great start on this problem, for you already despise the sin and want victory. Jesus promised in Genesis 3:15 that he would create in the hearts of His children a hatred for sin and Satan. With that hatred for sin, you can go to Him acknowledging that you are dealing with a “Sin” issue. For He invites you to “Only acknowledge thine iniquity, …and I will heal your backsliding.” (Jeremiah 3)

He came to save you from your sin, and He delights in doing so. Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. (James 4:7,8)

I like the method that Joseph used, “How can I do this great wickedness, and sin against [my] God!?” Then he fled the scene. Isn’t that a great one?! (Genesis 39:9)

David said, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” So, commit the exceeding great and precious promises to memory. When faced with temptation, Bring “every thought into captivity” by changing the subject, turning the page, flipping the switch, moving to a new location or activity, changing the channel, turning the dial, choosing something else to occupy your mind. There is power in the word!! (Ps. 199:11; 2 Cor. 10:5)

Another tip: Try mentally hanging pornography upon the “forbidden tree”, and don’t fall into the temptation of Eve when Satan whispered to her, “Thou shalt not surely die…” Just remind yourself that it is outside the parameters which God has established for your life and well-being. Renounce it and deny yourself access to it. This you can choose to do, and God will give you the grace, the divine strength to do so.

Remember, “Satan finds in human hearts some point where he can gain a foothold; some sinful desire is cherished, by means of which his temptations assert their power.” However, “Not even by a thought could Christ be brought to yield to the power of temptation.” (On Hebrews 2:18)

Just a few tips that I hope will be helpful to you.

All Power to you, my friend!
